Mon-AM: 7 mi (1:04) // Greenway
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Sabo (2x)
Easy. Spotted some green grass out there in spite of the extended winter. Inspired some hope in me. Winter will end one day.

Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Sabo (2x), Lake St. (1x), Franklin St. (1x)
Easy. Woke up to a white blanket below (another 5" fell through the night) and a blue canopy above. Really picturesque. This has gotta be one of the snowiest April's on record here in the Twin Cities. It just keeps coming:

Thu-AM: 14 mi (1:44) // Mississippi riverfront
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x)
2 mile warm-up, 10 mile tempo (6:48 avg; splits = 6:51, 6:51, 6:44, 6:51, 6:44, 6:48, 6:46, 6:40, 6:52, 6:52; no gels), 2 mile cool-down. Decent weather in the upper +30Fs, but still some noticeable wind. Right hamstring was a little tight towards the end, but felt good otherwise. Can't wait to start doing speed-work in some shorts. Probably the last longer tempo effort before the marathon. Will start winding things down over the next couple weeks.

Easy Sunday shake-out. Hottest run of the year, near +80F! Hard to believe that it actually snowed earlier this week. Crazy how a few warms days can make the winter feel like such a distant memory. Guess this is how it will feel with the new heavens and the new earth, when groaning gives way to glory (Romans 8:18-30).
Totals: 51.5 mi (7:21, 22 bridges)

I love this post because:
1) These might be some of the best pictures on the blog so far. I love the snow! It is so beautiful!
2) The line, "Rise and Shine!" made me want to sing, "and give God the glory, glory!"
3) Sam's running shoes! He is so ready!
