Mon-PM: 9 mi (1:20) // Upper + lower Mississippi loops
Lake St (2x), Intercity (1x), Franklin St. (1x)
A stroll along the river after watching the Boston marathon live online this morning. Still amazed how easy they make sub-5 miles look. Crazy. Praying for those in Boston, healing and justice.

Tue-PM: 4.5 mi (:40) // Greenway
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (1x), Sabo (2x)
Another easy one. Had planned on going a little further, but ran into Ashley and Sam along the riverfront and decided to call it a day. Tough to stay motivated during these lingering winter days. I think sub-zero in January may be easier to run through than mid-30s in April. Uff da, or something. We did have fun giving our jogging stroller a test run though, even if it did take a few minutes to figure out how to collapse:

Wed-AM: 14 mi (1:57) // Lower + upper Mississippi loops
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Intercity (1x), Franklin St. (1x)
Legs starting to feel a little better, but still pretty beat up from the road miles of the last few months. Rumor has it that more snow (~6"+) will be moving in tomorrow and Friday. Bummer...

Thu-AM: 9 mi (1:13) // Mississippi riverfront
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x)
Probably the toughest conditions of the winter: started off with mostly freezing rain + some sleet, then mostly sleet + some freezing rain by halfway, then some snow thrown into the mix towards the end. Windy enough to make everything fall sideways too. Planned on a short tempo, but only managed 3 miles (6:39, 6:35, 7:00) before the footing iced over. Guess that's what I get for running in a winter storm warning! Think some ice pellets are still embedded in my face.

Fri-PM: 8.5 mi (1:15) // Upper + lower Mississippi loops
Franklin St. (1x), Intercity (1x)
Took it easy, kind of a mental recovery day from yesterday. Decent footing, considering all the snow:

Sat-AM: 25 mi (3:31) // Mississippi riverfront
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Mendota (2x)
A great morning to be outside: mid-30Fs, blue skies, sunshine, and no noticeable wind. Almost makes up for the past couple wintry days (almost). Ran ~12 miles from the house, out past Fort Snelling towards St. Paul, and then turned around and came home:
Blue skies! (the point of Pike Island to the left)
A sign I never thought I'd see in MN . . . and "fallen" or "falling"? The gerund would probably increase my alertness.
Hmm, a possible future aid station?
