Mon-PM: 22 mi (3:17) // Fort Snelling
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x)
Long run, tired legs. Nice winter day down in the park though:

Tue-PM: 7 mi (1:05) // Greenway
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Sabo (2x)
Easy recovery run out to the river.

Wed-AM: 11 mi (1:33) // Lake of the Isles
Morning loops (4x). More and more folks out with each loop. Quite a few cross-country skiers on the lake too. Trying to enjoy the winter sports as long as possible, I reckon. If these +30Fs highs continue, it'll be spring before we know it.

Thu-PM: 14 mi (1:44) // Greenway
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x)
Along the Mississippi Riverfront: 2-mi warm-up, 8-mi tempo (6:29 avg; splits: 6:12, 6:13, 6:24, 6:28, 6:33, 6:36, 6:46, 6:43; no gels), 2-mi cool-down. Kinda gray out, but the footing was a bright spot -- the most "ice-free" it's been all winter. I'm guessing the somewhat lopsided splits are more a results of the wind than fatigue. A good run to end the month on!

Fri-PM: 12 mi (1:50) // Downtown Minneapolis
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (1x), Stone Arch (2x), Merriam St. (2x), Hennepin Ave. (1x), Plymouth Ave. (1x), 11th Ave (1x)
Hello, March! I think running exclusively on the roads over the winter months (all the trails are still iced-over) is starting to take its toll on me in the form of "monotony." Hard to keep getting excited about the same stretch of pavement, over and over and over. So: I decided to head to downtown Minneapolis and explore some new stretches of pavement, ones I usually stay away from because of the people/tourists in the summer months. Happy I did . . .

Today was also Ashley's due date. No baby yet, though I've been running with my cell just in case! Hopefully the patience that comes along with distance running will be useful if the baby delays . . .

Sat-PM: 14.5 mi (2:09) // Upper + lower Mississippi loops
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Sabo (2x), Intercity (1x), Franklin St. (1x)
Legs still feeling a little flat, but it is what it is. Longest week in the training cycle so far. Decided to push through to hit 80mi for the week (much easier, and safer, to do when you know a rest day is coming tomorrow). Thinking 80mi is probably the upper limit with the current schedule: 6 days of singles + 1 rest day.

Rest. Still no baby . . .
