Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Sabo (2x)
Nice and easy. Loving the sunshine and +74F. Still trying to de-thaw from the long winter. Shivers have a way of lingering in the bones. Legs feel mostly good and rested, though my right hamstring still feels a little tight. I'm starting to wonder if it's more related to the winter than to running.

Tue-PM: 1 mi (:10) // Lake of the Isles
Just shaking out the legs. Thought some active recovery might do the body good. Did some walking along some trails by Ashley's school with Sam earlier in the day too. Quite impressed with our stroller's off-road abilities, though running over roots and rocks might be a bit foolish. Sam may not like that either. Toasty outside at +98F. Hard to believe it was still snowing here like a week ago . . .

Fri-AM: 5 mi (:57) // Mississippi trails
Morning stroll before some afternoon showers. Overcast gray skies, but it still can't hide the bright greens of spring. Feels good to be back on these "home" trails again. Probably my first time out on them since last November. I expected to find some flooding (typical for this time of year as the snow melts and the rains come), but was happy to be running on dry ground all the way! The recent summer-like weather must have dried them out. Legs seem to be bouncing back well, but still going to take it easy for another week or so.

Sat-PM: 7 mi (1:09) // Fort Snelling State Park
Pike Island (2x)
Late afternoon meander through the park trails. All seems to be in good runnable shape, especially on Pike Island. Last spring, the park decided to sand a segment of the loop (presumably to help fight against erosion?). But this year, so far, it's all hard-packed. Me gusta. Could be a great spot for some summer trail speed-work, especially under the cover of shade. Saw a few folks out, but not as many as I expected. Happy to have had the dirt paths to myself and my thoughts.
