Streets on top of Lookout Mountain (GA). Ashley and I are staying at a bed & b'fast up here for our anniversary (6th year in a row!), so thought I would get out and explore a little after checking-in. Took a right out of the B&B and ended up running alongside a golf course with some great views of Covenant College. Perfect rainy day up on the mountain: steady drops in a foggy mist -- what I imagine running through a cloud would be like. Would have felt a bit creepy if it wasn't for the chirping of the birds. Nearly got toppled by a falling tree limb on the way back. You just never know. Thankful I decided not to pick up the pace . . . Happy New Year!

Neighborhood (Kennesaw, GA). A couple loops around the neighborhood. Think I'm finally started to get my "hill" legs under me . . . just in time for the last run here in the South. You'd think that the neighborhood loops would start to get boring after a while, but the neighborhood is where I learned how to run (along with the trails of Kennesaw Mountain). Lots of miles here in the Lake Latimer subdivision. Good memories!

Greenway. First run back in the frozen tundra of Minnesota! A solid sheet of ice seems to have settled on top of the river since being away . . .

Greenway. A late afternoon start left me in the twilight darkness that is the post-sunset hour. Feels like I'm always chasing the sun these days. Enjoyed having the paths mostly to myself . . .

Greenway. Started at Lake Street for a southern-ish tour of the riverfront while Ashley, after a short walk together to see the winter version of the Mississippi, settled in at the Dunn Brothers coffee shop for some grading. Made it down to the back entrance of Fort Snelling -- a 1.5-mi path that spits you out at the Visitor Center -- but turned around there for time. It's been nice to have the sun every day since returning from the South. Will take the teens and twenties with a little sun over 40s without it every day of the winter . . .
