Weekly Summary: Oct. 24-30

10-24-11
Mon-PM: 10 mi (1:31)
Greenway (GW) to Mississippi trail (MT). Spectacular running weather in the upper 50s.

10-25-11
Tue-AM: 8 mi (1:22)
GW to MT. A little windy, but not cold.

10-26-11
Wed-PM: 10 mi (1:38)
GW to MT. From the start, today's run sort of felt like stepping into a conversation already underway—one between the seasons. By conversation, I don't mean to imply that words were being spoken. But, the body language was all there—the happy gloominess of intruding clouds suspended over a continued, but weakening, resistance of colorful trees on the earth. I think fall stood firm for another day, but it's hard to say how much longer it can resist winter's persistence. November 1st is officially the first day snow plowing can begin.

10-27-11
Thu: OFF
Classes. Daddy's birthday!

10-28-11
Fri-AM: 8 mi (1:16) + 2 mi (:21)
Salem Park. House-sitting in Inver Grove Heights for friends. With AJ (2 mi). Snatched 2 leaves on the same run for the first time ever, numbers 5 and 6 on the season (both left-handed)! Will likely be back to this windy trail getaway before heading back home.

10-29-11
Sat-PM: 4 mi (:46)
Salem Park. With Ashley!

10-30-11
Sun-AM: 8 mi (1:09)
Salem Park. Realized running with Ashley yesterday that these park trails are a little more technical than I first realized in my discovery excitement (hard and narrow in places, rocky in others). Feels refreshing to actually need to watch my footing though. Ran a couple faster loops just because.

Totals: 50.0 mi (8:03)
