Weekly Summary: May 11-17

Mon-AM: 6 mi (:55) // Fountain Lake
Easy out and back along the north side of the lake. Cloudy and comfortable out.

05-12-15
Tue-AM: 6 mi (:52) // Edgewater Park
Predawn loops. Weather felt like it had a brief relapse back towards winter with temperatures near +40F and with some wind. As long as it's not snowing...

Fri-AM: 8 mi (1:09) // Fountain Lake
Out and about along the north side of the lake. Pleasantly warm and humid. As I ran across a bridge, I also ran into a sheriff camped out on one of the bridges, lights off:

"Where are you headed tonight?" he asked, getting out of his car.
"Just out for a morning run."
"Can I see your watch?"
"Sure," I said, pulling up the left sleeve of my green jacket to expose the progress on my GPS.
"Okay, sorry to bother you on your run. Just looking for a couple people."
"Sounds good."

Pleasant fellow. Felt kinda nice having a conversation with someone actually. Usually the only living things I see on my early morning runs are rabbits, and the occasional sleeping bird floating creepily on the lake.

05-16-15
Sat-AM: 23 mi (3:35) // Myre-Big Island State Park
Easy run from the front door out to the state park and back. Probably ended up being about half road and half trails. Overcast, muggy, and muddy. Lots of nice views of birds, trails, and scenery:

05-17-15
Sun-AM: 13 mi (1:55)
A couple loops around the lake, then a loop around Edgewater Park before church. Seemed like there were folks prepping for a biathlon or triathlon in town, but the race must have started later in the day as I didn't see any racers.

Totals: 56.0 mi (8:26)
