Mon-PM: 5 mi (:52) // Myre-Big State Park
Easy, exploratory, recovery venture from the visitor center after work. Will probably start making this my default running spot after work as it's basically right on the way home. Trails were in good shape, though still some snow and puddles in places. The park seems to have a decent mix of grassy-type trails and more woodsy-type trails. Still curious to see what kind of route I could put together for a long run. So far I haven't seen any "big" hills, but definitely some rolling terrain out there.

Wed-PM: 7 mi (1:11) // Myre-Big State Park
Easy running along the paved paths, mostly. Plan was to meet up with Ashley and Sam. They were running a bit late, so did a couple miles on my own before they arrived. Then ran with Ashley and pushed Sam in the stroller for 3 of the middle miles - talk about strength training! Then did a couple more on my own afterwards. Lots of bird sightings, all enjoying the ever-expanding liquid portion of Albert Lea Lake. +70F today!

Thu-PM: 9.25 mi (1:23) // Fountain Lake
Along the north (and more secluded) side of the lake - a few out and backs from the house after work. Legs still feeling a bit heavy, but happy to be wearing shorts in April. This is a Minnesota spring I could get used to.

Fri-PM: 8.5 mi (1:27) // Myre-Big State Park
Easy miles after work. Wasn't in a hurry - just enjoyed exploring some more of the park trails. Lots of dead fish around the lake shores are starting to make for some interesting smells.

Sat-PM: 13.25 mi (1:38) // Blazing Star Trail + Myre-Big State Park
Tried to take advantage of the last of the summer-like weather for a little while (going to cool down next week): 2 mi w/u, 9 mi tempo (6:39, 6:40, 6:37, 6:50, 6:52, 6:51, 6:35, 6:46, 6:00), 2 mi c/d. Started in Myre-Big for the warm-up then ran out to the Blazing Star Trail parking lot back in town (with the wind) and turned around and came back (into the wind). Last three were on the SP roads out to Big Island. The dead fish smell is getting really bad along the lake shores, but otherwise felt good. Last mile of the tempo was near max effort, just for fun. Looking forward to Boston in 9 days!

Sun-PM: 4.3 mi (:44) // Fountain Lake
Easy out and back along the north shore of the lake in the rain, wind, and cold. As I'm sitting here typing in my living room, the rain has actually turned into snow - the sideways kind even. Alas.
