Tue-PM: 6 mi (1:00) // Mississippi Riverfront
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x)
Out to the river and back, with Sam! Our first father/son run, I think. Sam's longest thus far! Man, the running stroller sure does get heavy in the wind = new respect for Ashley! A beautiful day to start off October.

Wed-PM: 9.5 mi (1:43) // Murphy-Hanrehan State Park
Murphy bridge (1x) -- wood one over a swamp! + 1 leaf
Had some unexpected time this afternoon, so decided to check out these trails ahead of Surf the Murph. First glimpse inside of the park. Got a little lost and turned around, but that's to be expected in a new trail system. Will be back, for sure!
The bigger news is that I finally caught my first leaf on the year!

Thu-AM: 12.2 mi (1:49) // Lower Mississippi loop
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Lake St. (1x), Intercity (1x)
From the house, to the riverfront, around the lower Mississippi loop, and back home. Overcast and dry for most of the run, but the skies opened up over the last mile. My "water-resistant" jacket kept me dry for a solid 5 minutes. I love running in the rain though!

Fri-PM: 11.3 mi (1:42) // Fort Snelling State Park
Pike Island (2x)
Afternoon stroll through the park. Think I managed to hit all the trails in the park at least once, with a loop around Pike Island at the end. Weather was overcast again, with a slight fall chill in the air. Several groups middle schoolers were out and about for a Friday field trip. Hope they'll be back when they grow up. The lakes get all of the publicity, but the parks in Minnesota are amazing.

Sat-PM: 13.5 mi (2:27) // Murphy-Hanrehan State Park
Murphy bridge (1x)
More scouting on the Surf the Murph course ahead of the race in a few (short!) weeks. Interesting weather: mostly gray and overcast with some light sprinkles and occasional hail. Legs are still feeling some fatigue from Superior, but they're coming back -- slowly, but surely!
