Mon-PM: 20.5 mi (3:24) // Fort Snelling
11th Ave. (2x), Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Fort Rd. (1x), Lake St. (1x)
From the front door, down to the riverfront, south on the Mississippi side of the river to Fort Snelling, then back home along the St. Paul side of the river (plus a pre-run jog to the Convention Center for work -- maybe the only time I'll ever be getting paid to run; 3 granola bars). Tough miles out there today. Missing the buried friction of the pavement underneath all the fresh snow. As much as it slows down and shortens the running stride, I can't bring myself to grumpiness yet. Still too beautiful.

Tue-AM: 11.5 mi (1:48) // Upper Mississippi Loop
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Sabo (2x), Franklin St. (1x), Lake St. (1x)
Kept it to a slow & steady shuffle through a few more inches of fresh snow. Felt good.

Wed-AM: 11 mi (1:35) // Lake of the Isles
Early morning wake-up loops around the lake after dropping Ashley off. Thought it may finally be a day without snow, but some flurries starting floating down from the sky on the last loop.

Thu-AM: 7 mi (1:08) // Greenway
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Sabo (2x)
Easy out and back to the riverfront.

Fri-AM: 14 mi (1:46) // Upper + Lower Mississippi Loop
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Franklin St. (1x), Intercity (1x)
2 mile warm-up + 9 mile tempo (6:50 avg; splits: 6:48, 6:54, 6:49, 7:07, 6:56, 6:55, 6:47, 6:44, 6:31; no gels) + 3 mile cool-down. One of the nicest days in recent memory (+20F with the sun), but the footing's still lagging a day or two behind. After eight or so weeks of training, feels like 6:40-6:50 might be "marathon pace." Still guessing and checking.

Sat-AM: 9 mi (1:26) // Greenway
Bridge Which Must Not Be Named (2x), Sabo (2x)
Just an easy, shakeout run to the river. Happy to see lots of folks out and about. Felt like a collective coming out of hibernation. A nice end to my highest mileage week of all-time (I think).
