Peace and Quiet

I was letting curiosity click around on the internet yesterday afternoon, and I came across something familiar — me, only divided by two.

What I found was an introductory, here's-who-I-am email I penned back in August of 1999 to the Ultralist community. I'm not sure if I contributed to any further discussions on the list, but I obviously wanted to be polite and let everyone know who I was. Doing the math, I guess I would have just started my freshmen year in high school.

The PRs listed are no longer current, nor is my email address. I'm also not sure what that 50k in Canada was going to be! But I still own a pair of Nike running shoes. I still love exploring trails. And I still like the peace and quiet of the ultra:

I too attempt to catch leaves while running. It didn't occur to me to count my catches, but then again, I don't author a blog about running. Enjoying your posts.
