A Late Summer Run in Snelling

After dropping off some good friends at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport this afternoon, I decided that the next most logical decision was to visit Fort Snelling State Park -- located right next door -- and then to get out of the car and run for a really long time. (Summer is coming to end, you know.)

So that's what I did, at least for one more summer day:

Tree canopy (Mile 1) -- thankful for the shade today with temps in the low 90s
Minnesota River, from below (Mile 3)
 Pike Island (Mile 8)
Minnesota River, from above -- even suspended above, if that's your thing (Mile 16)
Wonder where it goes... (Mile 17)
Pike Island bridge from high atop the Mendota bridge (Mile 18)
